Planting Seeds in Spring!

"It is through the alignment of the body that

I discovered the alignment of my mind,

self and intelligence."

- B.K.S. Iyengar, Light on Yoga

Hello and welcome to my very first newsletter! I hope to keep you all up to speed on exciting developments in my massage practice and share some of my current inspirations. First, the News! Last month I took an amazing workshop in Big Sur on abdominal massage. From the abdomen we are able to address digestive issues, lymphatic drainage and postural imbalances connected to the psoas and pelvic region. If your tummy sometimes gives you troubles, ask me about how we can specifically address this very sensitive, but very potent region of the body, one that is often overlooked in conventional massage! And now, for the letter...

Let the Grass Grow

Sit quietly, doing nothing, Spring comes, and the grass grows by itself. - Zen saying With the arrival of Spring, so the flowers explode into colorful bursts of brilliance, the earth around us is teeming with life. As if by magic, the perfect example of the balance between ease and effort is exemplified in the Spring. The seeds of past goals and efforts have had the time to germinate, now catching speed as they take on a life of their own. And so a sense of effortlessness is present as we reap the benefit of our good habits and mature projects. At the same time, there is now space for new seeds to catch hold in our awareness, the first step to manifesting them in our lives.

Massage and Yoga are two modalities that are able to calm the mind and distill the senses into a state of receptivity. This place of openness is useful for accessing feelings of gratitude for the inherent beauty already present in our lives, as well as for both our small and great accomplishments. From this perspective of noticing we are also more open to welcoming our best ideas and accessing our deeper sense of what matters. The body is the vessel through which we will experience every moment of our lives. I hope that you will take the time to dedicate some of this season's bountiful energy to your beautiful body!

The autonomy and creativity that has come with working privately has been a great inspiration in my realm of work and I am so grateful to you for your continued support. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any requests or questions around bookings and scheduling! In service, Tamryn
